The Polymarket Builders Program is Polymarket's program for apps that place orders on Polymarket for their users. A builder gets a code that tags every order it routes, gas-free wallet operations through Polymarket's relayer, and the option to charge a fee on those orders. The program has three tiers: Unverified, Verified and Partner. Polymarket moved Whalidate to Verified on 8 October 2026, and our builder fee is set to 0%.
What is the Polymarket Builders Program?
Polymarket's documentation defines a builder as "a person, group, or organization that routes orders from users to Polymarket". The Builders Program gives such an app its own identity on Polymarket: an attribution code, access to the relayer, a profile with its volume and, from the Verified tier up, direct support.
Trading terminals, copy trading services and Telegram bots are all builders in this sense. The user trades on Polymarket, and the app sits between the user and the order book. Polymarket opened the program in November 2025, according to Unchained.
What does a builder get?
| Benefit | What it covers |
|---|---|
| Relayer access | Gas-free wallet deployment, approvals, order execution and position operations |
| Volume tracking | Every order the builder routes is credited to its profile |
| Leaderboard | A public page at builders.polymarket.com that shows builders and their volume |
| Support | A private Telegram channel and engineering support, from the Verified tier |
Gas is the network fee for a transaction on Polygon. Polymarket's relayer pays it for the operations in the first row, up to the builder's daily limit, so the people using a builder's app do not pay gas for them.
What is a builder code?
A builder code is a 32-byte identifier that Polymarket assigns to a builder's profile. The app attaches it to every order it submits, and the code is part of the order that gets signed. That is how Polymarket credits each matched trade to the right builder.
Matched volume can take up to 24 hours to appear on the leaderboard. A builder's profile and its fee rates are public, so anyone can see what a builder charges before using its app.
What are builder fees, and who pays them?
A builder may charge a fee on the orders it routes. The fee is a flat percentage of the trade's value, paid by the trader, and it is added on top of Polymarket's own platform fee where a market has one.
| Fee setting | Default | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Taker fee rate | 0% | 1% |
| Maker fee rate | 0% | 0.5% |
On a $1,000 taker buy, a builder charging the full 1% collects $10. For example, $10,000 of taker buys in a month at 1% is $100 to the builder, before any platform fee.
What a trader pays on one order depends on the market and on the app:
| Market | App charges a builder fee | Trader pays |
|---|---|---|
| No platform fee | No | Nothing |
| No platform fee | Yes | Builder fee |
| Platform fee | No | Platform fee |
| Platform fee | Yes | Platform fee and builder fee |
Polymarket limits how fast a builder can change its rates. A builder gets one change every 7 days, and a change takes effect 3 days after it is scheduled, so a fee cannot rise overnight. Polymarket also keeps the right to take away a builder's ability to charge a fee.
What are the Builders Program tiers?
| Unverified | Verified | Partner | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Relayer transactions per day | 100 | 10,000 | Unlimited |
| API rate limits | Standard | Standard | Highest |
| Gas-free trading | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Order attribution | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Builder fees | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Builder Leaderboard | No | Yes | Yes |
| Private Telegram channel | No | Yes | Yes |
| Engineering support | No | Standard | Elevated |
| Marketing support | No | Standard | Elevated |
| Early access to new features | No | No | Yes |
Unverified is where every builder starts. It needs no approval: a builder creates a profile in Polymarket's settings and its code works at once.
Verified needs approval from Polymarket's team. A builder writes to Polymarket with its builder API key, a description of what it does and the volume it expects, and the team reviews the application by hand. Polymarket's documentation says to expect an answer within a few business days. Verified builders can also be considered for weekly USDC rewards based on volume and for grants, both subject to Polymarket's approval.
Partner is the tier for high-volume integrations and strategic partners.
What does Verified tell you about an app?
It tells you that Polymarket's team looked at the builder's application and approved it. It also tells you that the app can run a hundred times more relayer operations per day than a new builder, and that its developers have a direct channel to Polymarket's engineers.
Polymarket keeps control after approval: its documentation says it may disable a builder's code for breaking the program's terms. The Information reported on 14 April 2026, as summarized by Unchained, that Polymarket had begun reviewing apps in the program whose marketing promoted copying wallets suspected of trading on non-public information.
The documentation describes a review of the application: the API key, the use case and the expected volume. It mentions no audit of a builder's code or security. Verified is a different tier from Partner, and no tier says anything about how a strategy will perform.
What changed for Whalidate?
We applied for the Verified tier on 7 October 2026, and Polymarket confirmed it the next day.
Our daily limit for relayer transactions went from 100 to 10,000, a hundred times higher. Relayer transactions are the wallet operations behind live trading, such as deploying a wallet, approvals and position operations.
We now have a direct channel to Polymarket's team. The builders' channel carries Polymarket's announcements, and we can put questions to its engineers there.
Our builder fee is set to 0% for makers and 0% for takers. An order placed through Whalidate pays Polymarket's platform fee where the market has one, and nothing to us. We charge for a plan, paid monthly or yearly and listed on the pricing page, and paper trading is free on every plan.
Whalidate is still not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by Polymarket. For live trading we still hold the keys of the trading wallet we create for you, as our Terms of Service say. The About page lists what Whalidate does and does not do.
How can you check a builder before you use it?
- Check what builder fee the app charges on maker and on taker orders. Builder fee rates are public. The caps are 0.5% and 1%, and some apps add a subscription on top.
- Find out who holds the keys of the wallet that trades for you, and read the app's terms on withdrawals.
- Run your strategy on paper before you fund it, if the app has a paper mode.
For how Whalidate scores wallets and places a copy, read the methodology. Our guide to copying Polymarket whales covers wallet choice, trade filters and exits. To run a strategy on paper for free, open the app.
Questions people ask
What is a Polymarket builder?
Polymarket's documentation defines a builder as a person, group or organization that routes orders from users to Polymarket. In practice that is the team behind a trading terminal, a copy trading service or a bot. The Builders Program gives each builder a code that tags its orders, gas-free wallet operations through Polymarket's relayer, and a profile with its routed volume.
How much can a Polymarket builder charge?
Up to 1% of the trade's value on taker orders and up to 0.5% on maker orders, according to Polymarket's documentation in October 2026. The default is 0%. A builder fee is added on top of Polymarket's own platform fee where a market has one.
How does an app become a Verified builder on Polymarket?
It applies to Polymarket by email with its builder API key, a description of what it does and the volume it expects. Polymarket's team reviews the application by hand. The documentation says to expect an answer within a few business days.
Is a Verified builder endorsed or audited by Polymarket?
Verified is a tier of the Builders Program that Polymarket grants after reviewing a builder's application. It raises the daily relayer limit and opens direct support. The documentation describes a review of the application (API key, use case, expected volume) and mentions no audit of a builder's code or security. Verified is a separate tier from Partner.
Does Whalidate charge a builder fee?
No. On 8 October 2026 Whalidate's builder fee is set to 0% for makers and 0% for takers. Whalidate's price is a plan, paid monthly or yearly, and paper trading is free.
